Home Sweet Home

HouseSmall.jpg

Tonight is the first night in our new house. We spent the day today moving everything here from our UAF apartment after only a couple of weeks of residency there.  On Wednesday, we went to the title office and signed the mountain of paperwork that comes with a house, and we were promised the keys would be delivered by our realtor today before one. We waited around as long as we could before calling and motivating someone, only to find out that they key was underneath the welcome mat.

Jacob was terribly excited by the newness of everything. Both boys were running around giddy. Every time Jamiee and I came back with another load, Jacob met us in the driveway with shouts of “Daddy! Come see our new house!” And he’d grab my hand and drag me inside each time.

Tomorrow, (Friday), Jamiee and I are driving to Circle in a borrowed rig to pick up the rest of our stuff. It’ll be a long day, but we’re eager to get our new place set up and unpacked before the solstice on Saturday, Jan and Julius arrive on Sunday, and the baby comes on Tuesday. It’s a whirlwind. But we are grateful for the many, many ways we have been blessed and continue to see God provide for our family.
