Good News
Sarah is out of surgery and doing well.
Everything went very closely according to plan. We were allowed to see Sarah soon after her surgery. The amount of equipment connected to her is a little alarming, but underneath it all, her long little body looks great. Her incision is shorter than I had expected, and even it looks good. Her skin is nice and pink.
She will remain sedated for most of tonight, and though she almost certainly won’t need me, I will stay with her tonight while Stephanie gets some much needed rest.
Thank you for all of the prayers and expressions of concern. We feel hugely relieved.
I even took a couple of pictures of Sarah. Stephanie thinks they may make some people uncomfortable, but if you are interested, you can see pictures of her here. I think she's beautiful.
Our love to all.

We continue to pray for Sarah's successful, quick, and complete recovery. I have had prayer warriors across the nation praying for Sarah and especially for both of you. We await each report each day and are looking forward to your return to Fairbanks. May God's peace that transcendeth ALL understanding be upon you both. May God hod little Sarah ever so close to His heart.

I went to school with you and Dayna (Ramage at the time) I have been reading your blog since little Sarah's birth. We have been praying for you and your family. Keep the faith, God is great!
A lady I work with was talking about her surgery...I piped up, "Are you talking about Sarah Avery in Alaska!!?!" What a small world. Her name is Lila, she knows your father. Anyways, your family has many many prayers and blessings sent your way.
